13. Oryza granulata

Distribution:-

Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Thailand

Habitat:-

1. Found in deciduous forest, bamboo thickets, rarely on grass slopes; on limestone hills or mountains; in damp places beside streams, waterfalls, near water holes, or seasonally dry, sloping land
2. Grows in sandy, lateritic soils and organic loamy soils
3. Not found in standing water and usually grows in complete shade

Morphological character:-

1. Perennial and short usually less then 1m, grass with lanceolate and dark green leaves
2. Compact panicles usually without secondary branching
3. Spikelets 5.2 to 6.4mm long and 2.4 to 2.7mm wide, always awnless, with granulated texture to the lemma and palea
4. Anthers 2.8 to 3.6mm long
