Habitat:-

  1. Found in sclerophyllous forest at an altitude of about 10 to 20m
  2. Flowering between April and August
  3. Grow in temporarily flooded black clay soils on schists
  4. Found in shade

Morphological character:-

  1. Perennial and short grass with narrowly-lanceolate, dark green leaves
  2. Open panicles
  3. Spikelets 6 to 7mm long and 1 to 1.5mm wide with hooked hairs on the surfaces of lemma and palea, awnless
  4. Anthers 2 to 3mm long
